The County Grand Orange Lodge of Belfast in
co-operation with the Department for Social Development have appointed a
full time Development Officer who will have responsibility to develop and
promote Orangeism within the limits of the greater City of Belfast.
The primary aims of the Belfast Orangefest project
are
- The development and promotion of Belfast Orange Events in the City
throughout the year in an increasingly positive light for all.
- The development and promotion of, in particular, the Belfast “12TH of
July” celebrations in Belfast so that this magnificent, traditional,
cultural and colourful spectacle can be enjoyed by all our citizens
and visitors alike.
Whilst committed to the tenets of the Principles
and Core values of the Orange Institution and its Parading traditions; the
Development Officer will place great emphasis on encouraging everyone, and
in particular those whom may not have been spectators or supporters in the past,
to join with us on this day of historical and cultural celebration in a
happy and peaceful atmosphere and looking towards our vision of shared space
for all.
It is envisaged that this will be achieved by a
series of Information events, competitions, tours & visits and by actively
reaching out to other traditions and cultures as well as involving Belfast
Commerce and Tourism.
The Development Officer will endeavour to reach
out to all and further information can be obtained from
